What's Been Going On: Summer Events at Tidal

The past 3 months- yes, we’re just about to hit our first 3 months of being open - have been such a crazy ride. Can you believe that much time has already passed? I certainly can’t! I wanted to take some time to update all of our followers, near and far, about what we’ve been up to.

It took us a bit to get some events scheduled. Don’t forget that we were still in school that initial 4 weeks of being open! I honestly love the vibe that we have going on, and so do many of you. It’s low-key, relaxing, and truly focused on the beer. That being said, I was eager to get some events onto the calendar. We didn’t want to host just anything though, we wanted to make sure that they were things that we could really stand behind.

Beer Painting with Gary Duquette

This summer we welcomed two painting parties with Gary Duquette. Each party included a class on how to paint using beer (so cool), a take home piece of art created by the guest, a Tidal tasting and tour, and a drink of the patron’s choice. We honestly had so much fun hosting these parties! Gary is a very talented artist right out of our neighboring Brooksville. He recently partnered with our graphic designer and beertender, Allisa, to host events at local wineries, breweries, and coffee shops. The best part is, he uses the business’ product as the medium so the guest gets a truly one of a kind experience! We are really looking forward to the next one.

For those of you that do not know, Dave and I are teachers first and foremost and will be still be teaching come the Fall. We recently partnered with the Hernando County Education Foundation and ran a week long school supply drive to fill up our boat! This is the type of event that I would love to do, not just yearly, but several times a year. Many people are completely unaware of how many students come to school unprepared and certainly not by choice! All of the supplies donated are going to HCEF to be distributed where necessary within the county. We truly appreciate all of you who donated to our cause for you helped supply a teacher’s classroom or have provided for a child’s education.

Pints & Poses with Angel from Happiness Yoga Retreat

This past Saturday, we hosted our very first Pints & Poses with Angel from Happiness Yoga Retreat out of Spring Hill. I was super excited about this particular experience because Angel and her yoga studio are quite special to me. I struggle with anxiety and turned to yoga several years ago as a means of coping with it. I have learned so much from my visits there, that I knew that I had to create an regular event where people could be introduced to the Happiness way of living.  Angel never fails to deliver a great workout of body and mind and has put together a team of amazing individuals. Pints & Poses will take place the final Saturday of each month from 12 - 1 pm in our taproom. The cost is $10 at the door and includes a yoga session, which is typically themed, and a drink of the patron’s choice. I highly recommend the beer, just saying!

Be sure to keep a close eye on our events page. We have a lot of great things in the works for the Fall including some new collaborations with more local businesses!
