Tidal Staff Spotlight: Meet Allisa

Allisa at Tidal Brewing

Allisa is what we call the magical unicorn here at Tidal Brewing. She plays a hand in almost everything that goes on here from merchandise, events, and even this website! She is the owner of Roots Creative Co. and works with many local businesses to bring a wide variety of creative projects to life. You can find her outside at the beach or hanging out with her dog in her free time.  Her deep-rooted passion for photography and community is clear to see in the amazing work she provides to us here at Tidal Brewing! We know that many of you may not know her yet so keep reading to hear from this amazing woman.

Let’s hear some more!

I know that the craft beer community can be overwhelming when you’re a new beer drinker, but these guys will make you feel right at home.

What does your job at Tidal Brewing entail?

That’s a hard question to answer! I met Max and Dave about 6 months before Tidal opened. Since then we’ve worked together on photos, labels, graphics, custom illustrations, merch, glassware, website, socials, events… you name it. We’re always doing something new. It’s a good time!

What event/product are you most proud of at Tidal?

Last year Max and I had a lot of fun planning quite a few events. I’d have to say if I had to choose a favorite, it would be Christkindlmarket. We gathered up a bunch of our local friends/vendors and just had a great time celebrating the holidays together. We did a fundraiser for The Life Center in Brooksville and that was really special.

Favorite product is also hard to choose. My newest favorite is the can labels. My illustrator Joey and I had a lot of fun with that one and it’s seriously the coolest to see folks just having a good time with their friends posting photos on Instagram of their favorite beer from our favorite brewery with our artwork on it. It’s freakin’ special!

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I love to be outside. Nothing like soaking up that Florida sun. Photography was my first love and I try and do at least one special project a month to keep me sane.

What is your favorite thing about running your own business?

The freedom it provides. I’ve never been someone who was going to be content with a 9 to 5 job. Life’s meant for more, you know? It’s important to me that I have the ability to always make time for the important stuff without having to ‘request off,’ or be resentful of my work. I am one of the lucky ones that truly love what I do for a living.

What was your first job?

I started freelancing as soon as my parents bought me my first camera back as a freshman in high school!

What got you into this field of work?

Put simply: my passion for people, community, and art.

If you would live anywhere, where would it be?

That’s hard to say. I feel like every time I leave the Smokies I leave a part of my heart, but this is my home. I can’t imagine not living near a beach. I’ll just have to buy a vacation house there, that’s all! Lol.

Aside from necessities, what one thing could you not go a day without?

Music. Hands down.

If you had a warning label, what would yours say?

Something like, “Will not stop talking unless physically has to,” LOL.

What is one thing that you want people to know about Tidal Brewing?

I could write a novel about this place. Not only are the owners and staff great company, but they genuinely have a passion for what they do. Dave and Max put their heart into this place. I’ve watched them work so damn hard and I am so proud of them. I know that the craft beer community can be overwhelming when you’re a new beer drinker, but these guys will make you feel right at home. Something I always admired about Dave was that he knows his stuff (and I mean REALLY knows his stuff). Before I met these two, I did not drink beer at all. Now I can’t believe I went so long without it. Dave taught me all about the craft and took the time to help me understand the styles and science behind everything. To me, that’s really special. I know that’s more than one thing… but I just love these guys.
